Trust & verificationHow we verify that neighbours are really neighbours.
Every neighbourhood app claims its users are local. Most check nothing. Here's exactly what PadosXO checks, how long it takes, what it unlocks, and what we deliberately don't do - with the actual numbers.
PadosXO restricts posting to residents whose location has been GPS-verified. Safety alerts can only be posted by residents GPS confirms present in their pincode on 7 of any 14 days. Chat requires both people to accept before it opens, phone numbers are never shown, and every report goes to a human admin. PadosXO does not, however, vet or background-check service providers - that stays yours to do.
Anyone can type an address. Almost nobody can be somewhere they don't live.
Form-based verification is theatre - you enter an address, the system accepts it, and a badge appears that means nothing, because there was never a check. We took the opposite approach: verification is a pattern of GPS-measured presence that someone who doesn't live in the area simply can't produce. You submit nothing, wait for no approval - you just live there, and eventually the system notices.
What each badge actually means.
Verified Local
GPS confirms your device inside your registered pincode area on 7 of any 14 days. The chip is then awarded automatically - no form, no document, no approval queue.
ID Verified
An optional government ID upload adds a second, separate chip to your profile. Nothing in the app is locked behind it - plenty of Verified Locals never do it.
Trust Ring
People you have actually chatted with can endorse you. Each endorsement is one-directional, and can only be given once per pair - so it cannot be traded back and forth.
Top Contributor
Consistently post helpful recommendations and active updates in your neighbourhood. It is displayed on your profile as a badge of helpfulness.
The permissions we withhold are the reason this works.
Most platforms describe what users can do. The more useful list is the opposite one, because an alert is only worth something if it can't be sent by an account that isn't there.
| Post type | Resident (verified) | Business page | Service page |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alert | YVerified Locals only | N | N |
| Post (general) | Y | Y | Y |
| Ask Community | YUnlimited | !Max 3/week | !Max 3/week |
| Buy / Sell | YUnlimited | !Max 1/week | !Max 1/week |
| Requirement | Y | Y | Y |
| Recommendation | YUnlimited | N | N |
| Event | YUnlimited | Y | N |
| News | YDirect publish | !Reviewed first | !Reviewed first |
Note the two rows that matter most. Alerts can only be raised by residents GPS has confirmed - no business page or service page can ever post one, however established. And Recommendations can only come from residents, so a business cannot recommend itself.
What happens when you report a post.
We don't auto-remove content on report volume alone, because in a neighbourhood context that is trivially easy to abuse - a coordinated group of neighbours could otherwise silence a legitimate complaint about them.
You report the post
Pick a reason - spam, fake, inappropriate, or wrong location. It takes one tap.
It disappears for you immediately
Hidden from your feed straight away, so you are not left looking at something while a decision is made. Everyone else still sees it for now.
A human reviews it
Every report lands in an admin queue and is read by a person. Alerts are prioritised in that queue.
The admin decides
Removed for everyone and the author is notified, or dismissed and restored to your feed. Nothing is deleted automatically on report volume alone.
What verification does not mean.
Verified Local status confirms one thing: a device has been consistently present in a registered pincode area. A strong signal about location, and nothing else - not a background check, not a criminal record check, not a character reference, not a guarantee of anyone's honesty or competence.
Nobody listed on PadosXO has been screened by us. Ask for references, and complete police verification yourself for anyone working in your home.
A tutor's degree, an electrician's certification, a doctor's registration - none of it is checked by us.
PadosXO does not process payments, hold funds, arbitrate disputes or offer buyer protection on marketplace listings.
No visitor entry, no gate passes, no maintenance billing, no staff attendance. That is society-management software - a different product entirely.
What people ask about trust on PadosXO.
How does PadosXO verify that someone is a local resident?
Through GPS presence over time. If your device is detected inside your registered pincode area on 7 of any 14 days, PadosXO awards Verified Local status automatically - no forms, no documents and no approval queue. Government ID verification is separate and optional. The distinction matters because only Verified Locals can post safety alerts; unverified accounts cannot, and business and service provider pages cannot at any point.
Is PadosXO safe to use?
PadosXO is built around three restrictions. Safety alerts can only be posted by GPS-verified residents. Chat is request-and-accept, so nobody can message you until you agree, and your phone number is never displayed. Every report goes to a human admin for review. What it does not do is vet service providers or verify credentials - that verification remains yours to complete.
Do I have to upload my ID?
No. ID verification is entirely optional and nothing in the app is locked behind it. The main badge, Verified Local, is earned through GPS presence alone and requires no document. Some users - particularly service providers and people selling higher-value items - choose to add the ID chip as an extra signal, but most residents never do.
Can PadosXO see where I am all the time?
Location is used to determine whether your device is inside your registered pincode area, which is what drives Verified Local status. Your live position is never shown to other users, and your exact address is never displayed on your profile or in your posts. Neighbours see the area you are registered in, not where you are at any given moment.
What happens when I report a post?
The post is hidden from your view immediately, so you do not have to keep seeing it while a decision is made, and it goes to a human admin queue for review. Content is not removed automatically based on how many reports it receives - in a neighbourhood context that would be trivially easy to abuse by a coordinated group wanting to silence a legitimate complaint.
Does PadosXO check service providers or domestic help?
No, and we state this plainly rather than leaving it ambiguous. PadosXO does not run background checks, verify qualifications or guarantee the quality of anyone's work. What it offers is different: recommendations from named, GPS-verified neighbours who have actually used that person and still live next door to whoever they recommended them to. For anyone working in your home, complete police verification through your local police station or state police portal.
Can a stranger message me?
Only once, and only with your permission thereafter. Chat is request-and-accept: another user can send a single short introductory message, once permanently rather than once a day, and unless you accept the request they cannot contact you again. Your phone number is never shown at any stage, and you can block any user, which removes their content from your view and prevents contact.
Why can't businesses post safety alerts?
Because an alert is only worth something if it cannot be sent by an account that is not there. Business pages and service provider pages have Alerts disabled permanently, regardless of how long they have been active or how established the business is. There is no upgrade, no verification path and no paid tier that unlocks it. That restriction is what makes an alert credible to the person receiving it at eleven at night.
The whole system on one screen.
PadosXO verifies residents by presence rather than paperwork. Registering a home pincode sets your area; GPS then checks whether your device is inside it, and presence on 7 of any 14 days awards Verified Local status automatically. Only Verified Locals can post safety alerts - unverified accounts cannot, and business and service pages never can. ID verification is separate and entirely optional. Endorsements from people you've actually chatted with add to your Trust Ring, one-directional so they can't be traded.
Contact requires consent: chat is request-and-accept, a stranger gets one introductory message and no second attempt, and phone numbers are never displayed. Reported posts are hidden from the reporter immediately and reviewed by a human admin rather than removed automatically on report volume. What verification doesn't cover: PadosXO does not background-check, vet or guarantee any service provider, verify professional credentials, or process payments or arbitrate disputes.
Get verified in your own pincode.
Register, carry on with your week, and the badge appears when GPS has seen enough.
