What people ask before they join.
Do I need my RWA or society to approve PadosXO first?
No. PadosXO is registered by individual residents using their own pincode, so no management committee, RWA vote or building-level adoption is required. You can be the only person in your building using PadosXO on day one and it still works, because your feed is drawn from a 10 km radius rather than from your building.
Can I use PadosXO if I'm renting?
Yes. PadosXO makes no distinction between owners and tenants - verification is based on whether you're actually present in your registered pincode area, not on whether your name is on a sale deed. Tenants often get more out of it, because they're newer to the area and need local recommendations faster.
What can a Verified Local do that other users can't?
Verified Locals can post safety Alerts, which push immediately to every verified resident within 10 km. Unverified accounts cannot, and business and service provider pages cannot post Alerts at any point. The badge also appears beside your name across the app.
How do I find a trustworthy plumber, electrician or cook near me?
Post a Requirement describing what you need, or search Ask Community for the question someone has almost certainly already asked. Answers come from people in your pincode who have actually used the person. For domestic help specifically, complete police verification through your local station - a neighbour's referral is a strong starting point, not a substitute for that step.
Is it safe to buy and sell with neighbours on PadosXO?
It's structurally safer than an open classifieds site: the other person is inside your 10 km radius, and you can see whether their location has been GPS-verified before you agree to anything. Standard caution still applies - inspect the item, meet somewhere public, and don't pay before you've seen it.
Will my neighbours see my phone number or exact address?
No. Your phone number is never shown on your profile, in your posts or to businesses and service providers, and your exact address is never displayed. Neighbours see the pincode area you're registered in - not your building, flat or live location.
What if my pincode isn't live yet?
Enter your pincode on the homepage or the Download page and we'll tell you where it stands. If it's not open, you can register interest and we'll notify you when it goes live. We open areas one at a time rather than switching on whole cities.
How is this different from my society's WhatsApp group?
A WhatsApp group can't confirm members live nearby, can't separate an emergency from a forwarded good-morning image, has no moderation beyond one exhausted admin, and no archive. PadosXO separates the eight kinds of post at the point of writing, restricts alerts to GPS-verified residents, and reaches your whole 10 km radius.
A resident app that doesn't need your building's permission.
Almost every app aimed at Indian residents is really aimed at their management committee - visitor logs, gate passes, maintenance collection, staff attendance. All useful, all dependent on someone else adopting it first. If your RWA hasn't, or you live somewhere without one, that category is closed to you.
