Open your phone and you can reach a colleague in another country in four seconds. You can't reach the family in the flat below. Between you sits a shared water tank, lift, power supply and street, and no channel at all. The mohalla didn't disappear because people stopped wanting it. It faded because nothing replaced what a shared courtyard used to do on its own.
The group that stopped working
Nobody checks who joined, everything arrives at the same volume, and anything useful is gone within an hour.
The app that needs a committee
Society software only works after your managing committee adopts it. Most of India doesn't live behind that gate.
The search that ends nowhere
You search the whole internet for a plumber while the person who's used a good one for nine years lives one floor down.
Four rules we've refused to break.
Restrictions are the product
Alerts matter because most accounts can't send them. Every time we're tempted to widen a permission, we ask what it would cost the people who rely on it.
Trust can't be bought
Safety alerts and resident recommendations will never be for sale. The day they can be bought is the day the feed stops being a neighbourhood.
Say what we don't do
We don't vet service providers, manage gates, collect maintenance or handle payments. Being clear about that is more useful than pretending otherwise.
Depth before reach
We open one area at a time. A neighbourhood with six people in it is worse than none, so we'd rather be genuinely useful in a few dozen neighbourhoods than technically available in all 19,000 Indian pincodes.

Who owns PadosXO?
PadosXO is built and owned by NearGrid Technologies Private Limited, a DPIIT-recognised startup registered in Uttar Pradesh. It's live across Delhi NCR: Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad.
What does PadosXO mean?
The name comes from pados, the Hindi word for the area around your home, the same root as padosi, meaning neighbour. It's a deliberate choice: this is an Indian product for Indian neighbourhoods.
How does PadosXO make money?
PadosXO is free for residents. In future, local businesses may pay for optional tools to reach their neighbourhood. Whatever changes, safety alerts and resident recommendations will never be for sale.
Is PadosXO a social network?
No, and we avoid the term deliberately. There are no follower counts, no public popularity scores and nothing to perform for. It's closer to a neighbourhood noticeboard with verification attached.
Why only Delhi NCR?
Because a neighbourhood app with six people in your area is worse than no app at all. It teaches people the idea doesn't work. We open one area at a time, once there are enough residents for it to be useful on day one.
What is PadosXO not?
It isn't a society-management platform: no visitor entry, gate passes, maintenance billing or staff attendance. It isn't a dating app or a booking marketplace. PadosXO doesn't vet, background-check or guarantee service providers, and it doesn't handle payments.
