Yes. PadosXO is free to download and free to use for residents, local businesses and service providers alike - no subscription, listing fee, commission or in-app purchases. There is also no advertising product or paid placement: position in the feed and in Explore Nearby is determined by proximity and recency, never by budget.

PadosXO is live across Delhi NCR - Delhi, Gurugram and Noida - covering 135 pincodes, with new areas opening regularly. Coverage expands one area at a time rather than city by city, because a neighbourhood feed only works once there are enough verified residents in it to be worth opening.

Padosi is the Hindi word for neighbour. Related terms include pados, meaning the neighbourhood or vicinity, mohalla, a residential quarter or locality, and aas paas, meaning nearby or surrounding. The name PadosXO comes from pados - the concept the product is built on already had a word in the language.

No, and we avoid the term deliberately. There is no follower count, no public engagement metric, no algorithmic ranking and no incentive to perform for an audience. It is closer to a neighbourhood noticeboard with verification attached: you see what's happening within 10 km of your pincode, in the order it happened, and you can act on it.

PadosXO is available free on the Google Play Store for Android. Search for PadosXO, or use the download button on this site, which links to the official listing. Installation takes under a minute and registration needs only your pincode and a phone number, which is used for account security and is never displayed to other users.

You can find your pincode from your postal address using India Post's pincode search, or by looking up your locality name in any pincode directory. In Delhi NCR, one locality often spans more than one pincode, so check against your street or sector rather than the area name alone. Noida is addressed by sector, which makes this easier there than in most of Delhi.

No. PadosXO works from your pincode rather than your building, so it is equally usable in plotted colonies, builder floors, DDA blocks, rented flats, independent houses and gated condominiums. No RWA, management committee or maintenance account is required - you register your own pincode and you're in from that moment.

Areas are switched on one at a time rather than city-wide, because a neighbourhood feed with six people in it is worse than no feed at all.

Yes. Alongside your home pincode you can register a work pincode and switch between the two feeds - useful across Delhi NCR, where a great many people live in one city and work in another. Verified Local status is tied to your registered home area, where GPS confirms you're actually present on 7 of any 14 days.

Through GPS presence over time. If your device is detected inside your registered pincode area on 7 of any 14 days, PadosXO awards Verified Local status automatically - no forms, no documents and no approval queue. Government ID verification is separate and optional. The distinction matters because only Verified Locals can post safety alerts.

PadosXO restricts safety alerts to residents whose location has been GPS-verified over 7 of any 14 days, requires both people to accept before a chat opens, never displays phone numbers, and routes every report to a human admin for review. What it does not do is vet or background-check service providers, verify professional credentials or guarantee transactions - that verification remains yours to complete.

No. Your phone number is never displayed on your profile or in any post, and it is not shared with other users, businesses or service providers. Conversations happen through in-app chat, and chat is request-and-accept - another person cannot message you until you have accepted their request.

Only once, and only with your permission thereafter. Another user can send a single short introductory message - once permanently, not once a day - and unless you accept the request they cannot contact you again. You can block any user at any point, which removes their content from your view and prevents contact.

The post is hidden from your view immediately, so you don't have to keep seeing it while a decision is made, and it goes to a human admin queue for review. Content is not removed automatically based on how many reports it receives - in a neighbourhood context that would be trivially easy to abuse by a coordinated group wanting to silence a legitimate complaint.

The most reliable route is a referral from someone nearby who has already employed the person, followed by police verification. In Delhi NCR, verification for domestic help is done through your local police station or the relevant state police portal. Neighbourhood apps and agencies can surface referrals, but the verification step remains yours - PadosXO does not vet or background-check anyone listed on it.

Nothing. Creating and running a business page is free, with no listing fee, subscription or commission. There is also no paid placement - you cannot buy a higher position in the feed or in Explore Nearby, because ordering is determined by proximity and recency rather than by budget.

Events, general Posts and Requirements, plus one Buy/Sell listing and three Ask Community posts per week. Business pages cannot post safety Alerts or Recommendations at any point - Alerts are reserved for GPS-verified residents, and Recommendations can only come from residents, so a business cannot recommend itself.

No. Creating a service page is free, and PadosXO takes no commission on your work and charges nothing per lead or enquiry. Payment is arranged directly between you and the customer - PadosXO does not process payments, set prices or take any cut of the job.

No, and we say so plainly on the pages residents see too. PadosXO does not run background checks, verify qualifications or guarantee the quality of anyone's work. What it offers instead is recommendations from named, GPS-verified neighbours who have actually used that person and still live next door to whoever they recommended them to.

A hyperlocal app connects people, businesses and services within a very small geographic radius - typically a single pincode, neighbourhood or a few kilometres. Unlike local apps, which operate at city level, hyperlocal apps restrict content and discovery to your immediate surroundings, so what you see is limited to what is genuinely near you. PadosXO, for example, uses a 10 km radius measured from your registered pincode.

No. Nextdoor does not operate in India and has never launched here, despite roughly 8,100 Indian searches a month for the brand. Indian users looking for the same thing generally use one of two categories: society-management apps such as MyGate, NoBrokerHood, ApnaComplex and ADDA if they live in a gated complex, or pincode-based neighbourhood apps such as PadosXO, which work regardless of housing type.

Sub-locality is the smaller area inside a locality - a block, sector, phase or colony. In an address form, the locality might be DLF Phase 3 while the sub-locality is a specific block within it. It exists to narrow an address down where locality names cover large areas, which in Delhi NCR they frequently do.
