A planned city that was never connected.
Noida got what most Indian cities never manage: proper planning. Numbered sectors, wide roads, a metro that reaches most places, green belts that survived. What it didn't get was any way for people inside a sector to reach each other. Sector 62 has tens of thousands of residents and no shared channel. Greater Noida West has townships where families have lived side by side for years without exchanging a word.

How many sectors are there in Noida?
Noida's master plan is commonly cited as having 163 sectors, numbered from Sector 1 to Sector 168, because Sectors 13, 103, 109, 111 and 114 aren't used. Not every sector is residential. Sector 18, for example, is mainly a shopping and commercial district.
Which sector in Noida is best to live in?
It depends on your commute and stage of life. Sectors 50, 51 and 47 are established and family-oriented. Sectors 137, 150 and 168 along the Expressway are newer and popular with IT professionals. Greater Noida West gives the most space for the money, with a longer commute into Delhi.
